About
Welcome to Pho Hanoi Amsterdam, a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Amsterdam at Oude Leliestraat 5. This charming eatery specializes in authentic Vietnamese cuisine that transports you straight to the vibrant streets of Hanoi with each spoonful. Pho Hanoi is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience that combines rich flavors, generous portions, and warm hospitality.
As highlighted by visitors, the niềm vui, or joy, of dining here lies in the exceptional quality of the food. The pho, a hallmark of Vietnamese cuisine, is praised for its intense flavors and hearty servings, whether you opt for chicken or beef. Each bowl arrives steaming, garnished with fresh herbs like coriander and mint, and accompanied by a side of zesty lime and chili for that perfect kick. Customers rave about the tofu banh mi, described as a must-try. The bread is perfectly crusty outside and soft inside, filled with a delightfully marinated tofu that leaves you craving more.
The affordability of the menu is a significant draw, making it accessible for both locals and tourists alike. You can indulge in flavorful dishes without breaking the bank, which is a rare find in the center of a bustling city like Amsterdam. This wallet-friendly approach does not compromise authenticity, as every dish reflects the true essence of Vietnamese cooking.
The friendly and attentive staff at Pho Hanoi enhance the dining experience, welcoming guests with smiles and prompt service. They make you feel at home, ensuring that your visit is not only about the food but also about the warmth of a shared meal. However, be aware that the popularity of this spot means seating can be limited during peak hours, and dishes like banh mi might run out, so it’s wise to arrive early.
In conclusion, if you’re in Amsterdam and yearning for some delectable Vietnamese flavor, look no further than Pho Hanoi Amsterdam. It’s a place where the food speaks volumes, and the ambiance wraps you in a cozy embrace. Whether you’re a pho fanatic or a curious diner, you won't be disappointed!
“ Delicious food!! Superb tofu banh mi!!! I love Vietnamese food. I was craving it after going a month without it in Croatia and had a stop over in Amsterdam. After researching I decided this would be the best option and I was right. It was quite busy when I got there, and was greeted by smiling friendly staff. I ordered a chicken phǒ and tofu banh mi. The soup was delicious- don’t forget to add your preferred herbs and flavours. I like 2 lime slices, extra chilli, all the mint and coriander with a few dots of hoisin and hot sauce. Great portion. I ordered the banh mi to eat for breakfast, but when I got back to my room I thought I should at least try it when fresh- big mistake. I ate the whole thing and regretted not getting 2 right away. The bread was superb- soft and just crusty enough to give a crunch. The tofu was FANTASTIC! Tasty marinade. Do not miss this place!!! Sorry no photos of the banh mi, I couldn’t put it down. ”
“ The place is a bright (maybe too bright), fluorescent light box on a cute side street surrounded by many colorful shops. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth a stroll. The Pho broth itself lacked depth of flavor and the sliced beef was pretty average. The service was good and the food arrived quickly. The price (€14-17) is in the middle in the Amsterdam Pho world. Overall, I would give it a 3.5. This all for now. ”
“ First tine trying Vietnamese food. The food was tasty and worth a try though I was not extremely impressed. The staff was nice and attentive, location is small but luckily was not very busy when I was there ”
“ Great spot for some delicious and authentic tasting Vietnamese food! The pho was super flavourful we tried the chicken and beef pho, both of which had good portion sizes. The chicken salad rolls are also delicious! ”
“ Great food and also a good choice if you need to eat gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian. My son has a nice Bahn Mi and I had a lovely stir fried tofu with rice noodles. ”
“ Oh this place is a good one! Been here when I visited Amsterdam and got hungry...One of the best choices I made! Though it's lacking aesthetic appealing, this place is amazing! I have tried the Beef Pho which came to my surprise as a huge portion alongside with chillies, lemons and coriander....It's one of those places in which the food makes you feel like home and the cozy atmosphere is nonetheless there! Great place with very friendly and honest staff! Would truly recommend this gem to anyone! ”
“ Very affordable Vietnamese cuisine that are not only authentic but also delicious. Portion are generous and prices are pocket friendly. Staff are friendly and always with a smile to serve you. Seating might be an issue during peak hours and they did ran out of banh mi when we visited in the late afternoon. Perhaps good to check before hand. ”
“ Came here earlier today for the first time and was blown away by the fantastic service - friendly, fast and the food was made fresh! I had the Chicken Summer Rolls for only €7, which is very well priced for the Central area of the city. The meal was light, beautifully balanced and served with a delicious chilli vinaigrette. I can’t wait to come back and try other options on their menu. Thank you so much to the whole Pho Hanoi team! ”
